Today is International Tiger Day. In honor of this occasion, we’ve got a special recipe just for you. We’ll also explore some fascinating facts about the tiger with an original painting done by Callie.

These are grrrr-eat!

What You Need

• 1 bag of Pretzel Rods (you will use about 16 individual pretzels)
• 1 cup of orange-colored melting chocolate
• 1/4 cup of chocolate chips or milk chocolate bar
• Microwavable Measuring Cup
• Parchment Paper
• Baking Sheet (optional)
• Microwave

Directions

Step #1 – Measure out all your ingredients

Step #2 – Place a large piece of parchment paper on the counter or on a large baking sheet

Step #3 – Using a microwave-safe measuring cup (or bowl) place the orange-colored chocolate in the microwave and set for 30 seconds.

Step #4 – Stir the chocolate and re-microwave if needed to get a smooth consistency.

Step #5 – Once the chocolate is melted, dip one end of the pretzel rod into the chocolate. Twirl it around to get it evenly coated.

Step #6 – Allow some of the chocolate to drip back into the cup before placing the pretzel rod onto the parchment paper.

Step #7 – Repeat this process until all the orange-colored chocolate is finished.

Step #8 – Melt the chocolate chips until they are runny.

Step #9 – Using a spoon or fork, lightly drizzle the melted chocolate chips across the coated pretzels – this should resemble the stripes on a tiger.

Step #10 – Let the chocolate solidify on the pretzels.

If you can’t find any orange-colored melting wafers, you can use butterscotch Chipets instead or add orange food coloring to white melting chocolate.
