Happy Independence Day, America!

On this day in 1776 America signed the Declaration of Independence declaring them as a new nation.

In honor of July 4th here are some fun facts about the United States of America.

  • The current 50 star flag was designed by a 17-year-old boy in 1958. It was part of a school project and he got a B-.
  • America sells enough pizza every day to cover 100 acres of land!
  • Three (out of five) of the world’s oldest rivers belong to the US (The New, the Susquehanna, and the French Broad River). Each of these are hundreds of millions of years old.
  • Statistically, the deadliest job in America is being President.
  • People in America are the most likely to help a stranger in need.
  • The most populated city in the US is New York City, followed by Los Angeles, and Chicago.
